She checked all the workings of my hearing aids and gave me advice on areas where I have been having some difficulties, largely in crowded, noisy environments. Also ; i just found out that I do have hearing problems. I need to get hearing aids; which I am all on board with. Sound and voice is more clear, Understanding words is as easy for me as was normal, Susan and I tested conversation at a noisy restaurant and I was able to have a normal conversation. the hearing aids work very well. Marilyn Starring69 days agoExtremely impressed with the additional hearing testing that was done and time that was taken explaining my hearing loss and hearing aids they felt would work best for me. After putting on the demo pair of hearing aids on, my hearing improved so much more than the trial pair I had worn for 2 weeks from another audiologists office in town. You are greeted cordially every time you come in - appointments are ON TIME, and you can get an appointment rather quickly! I am so happy that I checked out Holland Doctors of Audiology for a second opinion, and that I am getting my hearing aids and follow up care with them - would highly recommend them and their services.Posted on Google

Bill Mendenhall69 days agoI was referred to the Holland Doctors of Audiology by my primary physician two and a half years ago. They did hearing tests and determined that I had lost about 35% of my hearing due to a lifestyle (upland bird hunting, loud gasoline engines, and loud music) without hearing protection. They chose a proper hearing aid brand solution and I was able to hear things like bird songs, the wind in the trees and other outdoor sounds that are important to me. Judy Parr76 days agoDoctor Mary Lustig examined my current hearing aids and increased their volume. She will inform me when a test-trial pair of hearing aids becomes available that are rechargeable (not requiring batteries), cross-over, and work with t-coil (loop) systems. She explained things well and was friendly and professional. His passion and empathy for helping were evident by the way he actually listened to what was going on and then trying to connect the pieces for my specific case. He doesn’t just use a standard solution, he really listened to my concerns, issues, and all symptoms. He was able to adjust my hearing aids that were prescribed by a different provider. They weren't working quite right to combat my tinitinus. After having been told by and ENT a few years ago that there was nothing that could help me, this year I finally found this place. They got me in and did an assessment, and absolutely have helped me be able to hear more of my world using very uniquely programmed aids that are exactly my prescription. Patti Bruinsma136 days agoBy far, the best doctor experience that I've ever had. Dr Dokianokis just focuses on Tinnitus, which has been a decades long problem for me. The office staff is friendly, helpful and organized. Dr D has the most excellent bedside manner and is a brilliant audiologist. He's very thorough and you will spend all your time with him, not an assistant. He's explained all of my options, cost effectiveness and why a certain device may work better than others. If you suffer from Tinnitus, this clinic is your ans3er for finding relief. Thank God I did.Posted on Google

Jeff Rueble159 days agoI have worn hearing aids for almost 47 years and have seen Dr. Dokianakis since we moved to the area around 12 years ago. This is by far the best audiology practice I have ever been to. This is the kind of doctor he is: A few weeks ago, my 6 year old granddaughter, who also wears hearing aids, was visiting from out of town for a week. Her earmold cracked and the tube would not stay in. I called the office to see if they could help and they said to come in at noon. My granddaughter was very apprehensive about seeing a new doctor, but Dr. D immediately put her at ease. He did a temporary fix on her earmold and tube, checked her ears for wax and even showed her what the inside of her ears looked like with a miniature camera. Dr. D spent 45 minutes with us and he didn't charge us for the visit. Needless to say, my granddaughter was all smiles when she left and her mom was happy. Sometimes it's the small things that give the measure of a man and his associates. Thank you Dr. D!Posted on Google

Ken Coleman196 days agoThis office bills for charges that are “not covered by insurance” in their words. Then they also bill your insurance for the visit. I had to pay $250 up front and insurance was billed for an additional $310 leaving me with another payment after insurance paid their share. The $250 was never billed to insurance even though I was told it was by the office staff. I verified this with my insurance carrier. My next appointment was also going to cost $250 up front. My phone call to the office was recorded, however, I was never told it was recorded. I was told I would receive a call on Monday morning because I was confused on why I had received a bill. Instead I got an email Monday afternoon. Today, I called an office near my home who does free hearing screening without charging me or my insurance anything for the testing. From my very first point of contact setting up an appointment, through to my evaluations and meetings with Dr. Dokianakis, I was continually struck by how genuine, patient and kind each member of this team was in my interactions with them. There seems to be an ethos of empathy and compassion that runs through this organization; that kind of support goes a long way at the outset of one’s journey with tinnitus. There is no question that Dr. Dokianakis is a national expert in his field. His expertise and state-of-the-art technology enabled me to finally get clarity around my diagnosis, plugging the gaps in my experience with local ENTs. As soon as I had my initial consultation with him, I felt I was in safe hands, and left feeling more confident about my ability to come to terms with my tinnitus. For the first time in months, I felt hopeful, and as though I had a range of options before me. John Workman308 days agoNot happy with my visit.My first visit was with the head doctor and sounded promising.he talked about how they would help me control my tinnitus.45 minutes of what would happen.When I went in for my hearing tests it was a 90 minute test. after all of this I was told to buy a baby monitor that played white noise at night. this cost me about 400.00 that would not be billed to my insurance company. thanks for the non help. save your money just buy a white noise monitor that's much cheeper than going to see these people.Posted on Google

No one (with one exception) has come even close to to the knowledge and genuine care as Dr. Dakianopis. The improvement in my mother’s hearing with the adjustments to her hearing aids is amazing. Dean Pollee425 days agoI couldn't be happier with both Holland Doctors of Audiology and the results they have delivered. From the front desk folks to Dr. Schuiling herself, everyone is pleasant and professional. Dr. Schuiling always takes time to explain things thoroughly and answer my onslaught of questions. I've had my hearing aids about a month now, and they're still being ramped up to prescription strength, but I can't believe how much I was missing. I'm extremely happy with them, and my wife is even happier that she no longer has to repeat herself. The amount of nature sounds like birds chirping, or gravel crunching underfoot, has really surprised me. Plus, when bicycling on the road, I get a lot more warning of approaching cars. And my ability to hear in noisy environments like a restaurant has been restored. I also find myself more likely to interact with people in public now. Donna Anderson453 days agoI had previously purchased 5,000$ hearing aids from Holland Doctors of Audiology. I have since moved out of state and when I was having a problem with my new hearing aids I chose HDod A to service them.. I was quoted the price of the service for evaluation fee of $95 and a full service hearing device fee of$125 after these services I was told to program and verify a new audio gram would be an additional charge so I agreed to the service. Without advising me the charge was $495.00. I walked out of the office paying $715.00 for a checkup, no new batteries and just an adjustment. I find it unethical to make a charge of this amount without my knowledge. I cannot recommend this Audiology office to anyone bringing in their hearing aids purchased from someone else.Posted on Google

I met with Dr Schuiling who was a great listener, and provided excellent clear explanations. I did not feel rushed during my appointment. I have been to several ENT offices over the years and can say the approach at Doctors of Audiology was far more through than any other previous offices. I now have hearing aids--a pricy expenditure! But I trust that Dr. D has given me excellent advice, and I appreciate the considerable time he has given me for fitting and configuring the device. (Three years ago) I saw Dr. Dokianakis for a hearing and tinnitus evaluation. What a terrific experience! The testing was extensive, which I expected. But what set Dr. Dokianakis apart from a prior hearing test (and indeed from most health care providers I've seen) was his care in explaining each test's purpose, result, and how it factored into his evaluation. Dr. Dokianakis gave explanations in layman's terms without giving the impression of dumbing the information down. He answered every one of my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. I left understanding not only what's going on with my hearing, but why--his explanations of ear anatomy and function were easy to follow. I was also quite pleased with the office administration, especially the way they handle the pre-visit paperwork. I completed my patient background information online, which I infinitely prefer to sitting in an office with a form, trying to remember dates and details. The office's COVID precautions are thorough, so I felt quite safe during my visit. I highly recommend Dr. Dokianakis and Holland Doctors of Audiology.Posted on Google

I learned so much about hearing and how the untreated loss of hearing can exacerbate dementia. As I’ve recently turned 65, I made an oath that I would be realistic if I needed hearing aids so I made an appointment to get a baseline audiology profile. I’m fortunate as my hearing is within the normal levels. But, now, if something changes, we will know where I began at age 65. Because of the gift of getting older, I also got the gift of my darn ears not wanting to work like they did when they, and I, were in our prime. Dr Mary is the nicest lady, besides being very knowledgeable in all things hearing. She took time to explain all the tests (many...) results (some good, others, well, I was hoping for better...) and the options for help. She talked to me like I was a friend, not just another part of her day. The gals at the desk were equally amazing. they sent probably a dozen texts and emails reminding me of my appointment, that I hadn't done my online paperwork, nor sent it in, just like I was some forgetful old person. They had me pegged from the get go! After the visit with the fab Dr Mary, the gals up front explained all the different ways they could help relieve me of my money☺️. They were really helpful and I am looking forward to my next appointment were I get to try some hearing helping devices and pick my very own! Can't wait to start hearing the real stuff, instead of what I've been making up in my head because I can't hear it. You know you should go. How many times are your friends and family going to put up with you saying "What did you say?" I was almost ready to slap myself! Just go. Highly recommend. 🦻Posted on Facebook
