Did you know about that little pouch-like pocket in the base of cats ears?
The purpose of “Henry’s pocket” is unclear but it may be something that helps cats better detect and localize high-pitched sounds. Cats can pick up higher-pitched sounds of up to 1.6 octaves above the human range and one octave above the range of canines.
So, in most cases, they did hear but are just ignoring us!
Happy National Black Cat Day!
