Dr. Dokianakis and other Audiologists from the Michigan Audiology Coalition were at the State Capitol to meet with lawmakers, advocating for Audiology.
Dr. D said that “There were two main issues: 1) Asking for universal CMV testing for newborns, a virus that can lead to hearing loss and other neurologic issues, and 2) to oppose House Bill 5777, which introduces more beaurocracy, cost and unncecessary goverment control regarding ASL (american sign language) for children with hearing loss.”
